Forwind is an Irish label operating from Dublin and Berlin. Their mission brief is 'to provide a platform for music that maximises the expressive potential of sound, instruments and voices either through physical or electronic means, whether composed, constructed or improvised.' Over their ten year journey they have released a wide range of styles with a heavy emphasis on ambient, electro-acoustics and noise via beatless atmospherics and full throttle percussive numbers. This has lead to a varied and interesting catalogue with a great roster of local and international talent. Irish artists Dentistry, Sonnamble and Clang Sayne feature alongside quality material from across the globe. Some highlights include Tokyo and London based tape artists Tomonari Nozaki and Atom Eye, Baltimore noise alchemist Jeff Carey, Serbian sound artist Svetlana Maraš and the wonderfully detailed and atmospheric music of Norweigan artists Anders Brørby, Benjamin Finger and Rune Clausen.
Forwind have just released their final two albums of 2019 by Seasons (pre-din) and Erik Levander and are already at work on the next set of projects due for release in 2020.
Much like the label their podcasts and mixes feature a wide range of styles which you can expect to hear on the night. You can check out their catalogue and some previous mixes here:
